I tried every trick and every crack but both these games were not able to save the progress on Windows 8. I dug little more and found a solution that worked for me.
Follow these steps :
Uninstall Microsoft Games For Windows - LIVE Redistributable and Microsoft Games For Windows Marketplace.
Uninstall Batman Arkham Asylum/City.
Restart your system. (Don't ignore this step!)
Now go to his LINK and download gfwlive.exe (The latest version!)
Once downloaded, right click on the gfwlive.exe and change the compatibility to Windows 7 in Properties and apply the changes.
Done with this, right click again on gfwlive.exe and click on "Run as administrator".
After installing this file, install the game.
Start the game and Windows Game For Live login menu will pop-up.
Create a new profile.
A dialogue box will appear. Scroll down and you'll find a link to create an offline account.
That's it. This worked for me. Hopefully it should work for you too.
Enjoy the game !

ReplyDeleteWell bro, if there's an installation problem, I can't help it. May be your setup is corrupted or your system lacks minimum requirement. If you are facing the problem in saving the game then ask for it.
DeleteAs I Install the game it installs perfectly but after opening no windows game for live window opens and if I manually open games for windows marketplace because windows game for live is not there it gives me an internet connection error....
ReplyDeleteThat's the exact problem I faced and in order to save the game progress the popping of Windows Game For Live is must. And to make it appear the above mentioned steps helped me. Try it again.
Deleteif you followed the given instructions, try hitting your "HOME" key, it should drop down the windows game for live.

forgot to mention, you should hit the "HOME" key to make the windows game for live screen show up, because it won't come up on its own.

DeleteInstead of this entire process, when the games for windows live drops down when you start the game, click on new profile and then select offline profile which will be in blue. Just choose a nickname and start playing. I'm using a Windows 8.1 Sony Vaio laptop and installed the game a couple of days back.

I've tried many copies of Arkham City and it's saving everytime... but with Arkham Asylum it doesnt work... this is an issue with the game Arkham Asylum and it has nothing to do with xlive... I have played many other games which requires GFWL like GTA IV,kayne and lynch, RE Raccon City, Street Fighter X, BioShock 2, Dead Rising 2, DiRT 3, RE5 and others... and every game except Arkham Asylum works...

cos if you mess with your xlive.dll files, you wont have any luck saving other games that require GFWL...
because only way to run any xlive based game is to simply download the installer from the xbox.com and install it via online... forget if any offline installer really works...
